From our beginnings in 1928, our focus has 
never changed.

Since 1928, our team have been focused on providing Brisbane’s residents with a dedicated, compassionate partner that fights hard for their will and estate disputes, no matter the case.

Over the years the firm has been tightly handed between a few main families. Generations of lawyers who take pride in their work and fight hard for their clients.

1928

The firm was established in 1928 by John Ruddy under the name of Ruddy, Tomlins & Baxter solicitors, with offices in both Brisbane and Ayr.

1980

Over time, the firm evolved to Ruddy & Mullins until John’s grandson Gabriel took over in 1980, reestablishing the firm as Gabriel Ruddy & Co. Solicitors.

1991

Michael and Terry O’Connor purchased the practice, expanding its scope while maintaining the name Gabriel Ruddy & Garrett Solicitors due to its years of goodwill.

2015

Christopher O’Connor, Michael’s son, took over the practice and renamed it O’Connor, Ruddy & Garrett Solicitors, starting a new era in the firm’s history.

2023

The Director Christopher O’Connor, won his first Best Lawyer Award in Trust and Wills, Australia. This award was voted based on peer review. A significant milestone. 

2024

Under Christopher’s leadership, ORG continues to uphold our nearly century-long legacy of trust and professionalism within the realm of Brisbane will and estate law.

2026

The Firm O’Connor Ruddy & Garrett would go on to win their first Best Lawyer Award, in Australia under Trusts and Wills. This would be a significant milestone; considering the business would have just completed its first decade. To win an award that is voted on by your peers is a significant achievement.
